We have arranged a time with the Police for introducing people who are not members (guests) around our club and allow them to experience shooting. We open for pre-registered guests on the morning of the first Sunday of each month from 9:30 to 13:00. If a first Sunday falls on a bank holiday then please check the main page of the website for confirmation of opening times
Registered guests will be able to try Archery, Black Powder Pistols, Air Rifles, Air Pistols, .38 Gallery Rifles (cowboy style underlevers) and .22 caliber rifles. Please note it is only on a Guest Morning that visitors are allowed to shoot at the club.
Please also note that on Guest Morning, You are not able to bring and/or sight your own rifles, nor are non-members with FACs able to shoot their own firearms on the ranges. It is recommended to wear suitable clothing and footwear.
Please arrive for 10.00am If you arrive later than 11:00am you may not be able to shoot.
GUEST MORNING FEES
A guest visit will cost £20 for registration and insurance and then ammunition charges, depending what you you wish to shoot which are (all targets are supplied free):
£3.00 - Air rifle (Hunter field target)
£3.00 - Air pistol (20 rounds)
£3.00 - Archery (18 arrows)
£3.00 - .22 Rifle (20 rounds)
£6.00 - Black powder revolver (6 rounds)
£8.00 - .38 underlever rifle (20 rounds)
The first Sunday morning of the month is devoted to visiting Guests, and the joining process of how to join the club will be explained if you are interested in becoming a member.
On arrival, please come to the clubhouse, where you will be asked to sign in, pay for your insurance and purchase tickets to shoot any of the above disciplines. You will be given a visitors high vis jacket, ear and eye protection and info on the different ranges.
On Guest Mornings you will be supervised by a ‘marshal’ on a one-to-one basis with each discipline. All the marshals and helpers on these days are volunteers. We can only accommodate a limited number of visitors, particularly for some disciplines which may take longer therefore we recommend an early arrival and you may have to wait a little to take your turn. We have parking on-site but if we are busy it can be limited.
Our Club has a proud safety record and it is one which we intend to continue.
You may visit up to four times on a Guest Morning. If you wish to continue to shoot beyond your four visits, you will need to join the club. To find out how to join click here.
Children are able to attend guest mornings but must be supervised by an adult at all times! Minimum age is 10 years old, and they must be deemed by the club strong enough to hold a rifle safely. Children under the age of 10 will not be able to practice archery.
Photography is allowed under certain conditions and at the discretion of the Range Officer.
Photography can interfere with shooting and have some safety implications if not controlled.
Permission must be obtained first before photographing anyone in or around the ranges/club.
