| Ask at the office for your targets ( Pistol = Air 4/89 ) and pay your entry fee. You will be given a set of cards with a number, which will be used to mark your cards. |
|
| Any single shot ISSF air pistol with iron sights. (5 shot with single magazine or 5 shot magazine loading 1 pellet each time) |
|
| Take the cards to the 10m range and shoot them, five shots to each target, 12 cards, 60 shots altogether, total time allowed 1hr 45 min. Maximum score of 600. |
|
| Sign the cards and return to the office to be countersigned or ask another member who was in the range while you were shooting to countersign. |
|
| Your cards will then be marked and entered into both the Scratch and Handicap Competitions. |
| 5 Target Rapid Fire | |
| Pistol. | Any ISSF 4.5 mm (.177″) Compressed Air or CO2 pistol may be used. The pistol must have a magazine that can be loaded with five (5) pellets. Multi shot replicas of live fire semi autos, or S&W type revolvers, bb guns etc. will not be allowed. |
| Preparation Time | 3 Minutes.During the Preparation Time 10 m Air Pistol paper targets must be available for shooters to adjust their sights. |
| Stance | The shooter must stand free, without support, with both feet and/or shoes completely within the firing point. The pistol must be held and fired with one hand only. The wrist must be visibly free of support. |
| Ready Position. | Before each series the shooter must lower his arm. The pistol may be rested on the bench or shooting table. A series is considered as having started from the command ATTENTION being given. Every shot fired after that will be counted. |
| Sighters | Before the beginning of the match, the shooter may fire one (1) sighting series of five (5) shots in ten (10) seconds. |
| Squadding | Each competitor shoots his/her match series separately, one person at a time. (We have only one set of falling plate equipment!) |
| Course of Fire | The event is 40 competition shots for men/juniors male and 30 competition shots for women/juniors female. The event is divided into series of five (5) shots each in ten (10) seconds. In each series one shot is fired at each of the five (5) Falling Targets in the time limit for the series. |
| When the Range Officer gives the command LOAD, the shooters must prepare themselves for their series within one (1) minute. |

| Range Commands | When one (1) minute has expired, the Range Officer will give the Commands: (Non electronic controlled targets. The timing will be controlled by stop watches) ATTENTION 3-2-1-START. The command START is the signal to fire. After ten (10) seconds, the command is STOP. Any shot(s) after the command STOP must be counted as zero(es). (Electronic controlled targets) ATTENTION: The red lights must be switched on. 3-2-1-START: The command START is the signal to fire. The red lights are switched off and give the signal to fire. After ten (10) seconds The red lights are switched on and the targets will be blocked. |
| Scoring | A hit is given for all targets that fall during the ten (10) seconds shooting time. Any hit is scored as one (1) point. Early and late shot(s) will be scored as zero(es). After each series of five (5) shots the fallen targets of each group must be counted, announced to the shooter and recorded in the scorecard. |

| Other Rules | Interruptions, including propellant changes: If a shooter releases the propelling charge during the preparation period they must be given a Warning for the first violation and a Deduction of two (2) points from the first competition series for the second and subsequent violations. Any release of the propelling charge, after the first competition target is in place, without the pellet hitting the target, whether a pellet has been loaded or not, will be scored as a miss. Dry firing without release of the propelling charge is permitted except during Finals. If a shooter wishes to change their gas or air cylinder they must leave the firing point to do so (permission must be obtained). Extra time. If a shooter must stop firing for more than three (3) minutes through no fault of their own, they may demand extra time equal to the amount of time lost or the time remaining plus one (1) minute, if during the last few minutes of the competition. No extra time will be allowed to compensate for time lost by a shooter who leaves the firing point to change or to fill their gas or air cylinder (permission must be obtained). See also above.If a shooter is interrupted for more than five (5) minutes, or moved to another firing point, they may have additional unlimited sighting shots at one sighting target at the beginning of their remaining shooting time together with any time extensions granted. RO: Range Officer will run competition, and may also compete. Under normal circumstance RO will be Airgun Captain, or someone nominated by AC. Purpose: Acquaints shooters with competition conditions. Develops “team” spirit and contributes to development of Club team. Allows for weak areas of technique to be identified and rectified. |
