The Rules of The Ham Invitation Open Competition



The following Rules apply to all Gallery Rifle / Carbine competitions except where specifically modified in the Course of Fire instructions for the competition

All competitors are reminded that club rules state that eye and ear protection must been worn when shooting.

Weapons   Any Centrefire Gallery Rifle .354'' to .455'' (for the Sarafian Trophy a .22" Light Sporting Rifle is also required).
     
Start position   Gun in shoulder, barrel at 45 degrees, unless otherwise stated.
     
Disabilities   Some courses of fire require the competitor to adopt the sitting or kneeling positions. If a competitor is unable to take these positions, they are permitted to sit on a chair
     
Ties   In accordance with National Rifle Association Rules: The shooter with most X's wins. If still a tie the competitor with the highest score at the furthest distance wins. If still a tie the next furthest distance is used, etc. If still a tie there should be a tiebreak shoot at the furthest distance.
     
Incorrect shots   Wrong number of holes in target in accordance with National Rifle Association Rules. If there are too many holes in the target the lowest and then highest shots are discounted. This continues until the right number of shots are counted. If there are too few shots in the target only the holes present are counted.
     
   

All courses of fire & trophy allocation are subject to change by the Gallery Rifle Captain

     
   

During shoots the Chief Range Officer's word is final.
