Postal Competition
Rules of the Postal Competition
Open to all MLAGB members and members of affiliated clubs.
Targets to have the official sticker affixed to the back of the
target in the area of the bull before being shot..
Competitions available will vary from year to year at the discretion of the
postal competitions secretary at the MLAGB. Targets to be shot within the
dates specified and posted to the postal competitions secretary together with
the entry fee. (*See note below about witnessing cards and handing in to the
office.) All competitions to be shot in accordance with
MLAGB Rules and
MLAIC Rules as applicable. Click on
the links to see the rules. Medals and/or certificates will be presented to
the first three places in each competition, provided there are sufficient
entries.
Postal matches are as follows: (a) Smooth bore flintlock
pistol . (b) Rifled flintlock pistol. (c) Single shot percussion pistol.
(d) Percussion revolver, any muzzle loading revolver in the spirit of the
original NOT RUGER OLD ARMY. (e) Target revolver, any muzzle
loading revolver with adjustable sights. Ruger Old Army allowed. (f) Free
pistol, any muzzle loading pistol with iron sights adjustable or not, with a
minimum calibre of .30. Ruger Old Army allowed.
You may enter one or up
to all six (depending on which ones are offered this year) as many times as you
want. Cost per entry and final shooting date are available from the Black
Powder Captain. |
Course Of
Fire
TARGET 1 x PL7 - (UIT 50 metre & 25
metre pistol target). Official sticker affixed to the back of the target
in the area of the bull before being
shot.
SHOTS Black powder only (no Pyrodex or
equivalent). Standing unsupported, one hand only. 13 shots in 30
minutes, best 10 shots to count for score. One warming shot can be fired off
the target within the 30 minutes allowed.
Card to be signed/witnessed by
the Duty Officer and placed in the box in the office. |
