The 25 metre rangeThe 25 metre indoor range was built about ten years ago and enables many different distances and disciplines to be shot. The white frame at the back contains the six turning targets at 25 metres. At stages down the range there are beams from which targets can be hung to allow competitions shot at 20 metres, 20 yards, 15 metres, 15 yards and 10 metres to be run. Behind the white frame is a curtain and baffles which stop the rounds and prevent ricochets The picture is taken from the firing point and all shooting is done from here. For shooting at less than 25 metres the targets are brought forward. The shooters never go forward to shoot. As can be imagined, especially on Winter evenings, this range is very popular and many different disciplines can be shot at the same time when practising. For this reason it is essential that the Range Officer is listened to and obeyed at all times to keep everyone safe. Next |
