For annual competition in memory of Colonel A C M Alington an enthusiastic member and keen shot, presented by his wife and six sons

Named after one of the major early shooters, Colonel Alington's name appears as the Winner of most of the long term Awards in the Club. In 1929 he was a Member of the Committee.

The Course of Fire in 1930 was 4 targets of 10 shots each at 100 yards, at Scratch. In 1934, when there was a Class A and B handicap system, the Alington was a Class A Trophy. by 1938, with the same course of fire, it was a shoulder to shoulder competition.
