Presented to the Ham and Petersham Rifle Club by Calvert H E Smith for Annual CompetitionThe Calvert Smith Challenge Cup was one of two presented by Calvert H E Smith, a long time Treasurer and Secretary of the Club in the period during and after the Great War. He was one of the sponsors of the Limited Companyset up in 1954 and is thus one of the first members, with a membership number of 3. The Management Committee Minutes of the 1st February 1925 record that he offered this Trophy initially for a disk breaking Competition. The other Calvert Smith Trophy was awarded to the top score in the Schools Team Competiton.By 1932, the Competition had changed to 2 targets of 10 shots each at 50 and 100 yards.Winners |
