The First picture of the RangesThe Ranges during the first year of the Club. The exceptionally sharp eyed might notice that they are the wrong way around compared to now. These days the 100 yard is one the left. The butts are made of wood which was provided by Mr Gridley of Gridley Miskin, the timber importer based in Hampton Wick, at cost or below. There will be time spent to see whether any of the figures in the picture can be identified, but so far they cannot. A stalwart of the Club, Mr W S Stuart, was a prominent photographer who had many Royal Appointments to his name took many of the pictures at the Club and this looks very much like his work. |
